Currently we offer a Blended Driver Education course that has been approved by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Driver Education Section. This course consists of 4 in-person classroom sessions with the first class including a parent of the student. If the student is over the age of 18, parent attendance of the first class is not required.
In addition, there is a 25 hour self-driven, online course offered by AAA. Please note that the cost for the AAA online portion is not included in our course fee. Each student will receive a certificate of completion at the end of this online course. They will need to provide that certificate to the driving school in order for them to take the final exam. Each student will receive 10 hours of in car lessons with one of those hours including a parent (both parents’ if they choose) for a parent ride along in the car. This is intended to help you understand what your student has been learning and to help identify the skills your son/daughter will need to work on. It will also show you what they will need to master for their license test.
Once the student has completed the classroom and online instruction, taken and passed the final exam (with an 80% or higher), and completed the 10 hours of driving lessons, they will receive their 60-day temporary permit and instruction on how to acquire your two-year permit. Rest assured that there are no more written tests needed to acquire your 2 year permit, just a fee the state charges.
Again, please take note that the cost of AAA online 25 hour course is not included in our fee. This course is Regulated by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Driver Education Section, (207) 624-9000 ext. 52128.
